I had a dream about finding a lost dog on a walk. It was very small, but when I caught up with it, it morphed into a bigger dog. I picked it up and two old women came up to me and asked if I knew where the owner was. I shook my head and I placed the dog on the ground because the one woman told me to be careful because it could be sick. As I looked I started to see ticks crawling all over me. The police came and the women put the dog into a car. The police asked what happened and the women took credit for rescuing the dog. When I saw the inside of the truck of the car, the small dog I had originally saw was inside too wrapped in a blanket.
Dreams about animals, particularly dogs, often symbolize loyalty, friendship, or aspects of oneself. In this dream, the initial encounter with a small lost dog may represent feelings of vulnerability or a part of yourself that feels neglected or abandoned. The transformation of the dog into a larger version could signify personal growth or the realization of a situation's complexity that wasn’t initially apparent.
The presence of the two old women who ask about the dog's owner could represent wisdom or guidance in your life, suggesting that you may be seeking help or advice regarding a situation that is out of your control. Their warning about the dog being possibly sick may represent caution about a risk or concern you have in waking life. The ticks crawling on you might indicate feelings of being overwhelmed or infested by negative thoughts or emotions. This can be a sign of stress or anxiety manifesting in your subconscious.
The arrival of the police may symbolize a desire for resolution or authority in the situation, while the women taking credit for rescuing the dog could reflect concerns about how your contributions or efforts in a scenario may go unrecognized or overshadowed by others.
Overall, this dream suggests themes of care, concern over neglect or health (either yours or someone else’s), the complexities of interactions with others, and the recognition of your contributions in challenging situations. It may be beneficial to reflect on any current situations in your life that resonate with feelings of vulnerability, uncertainty, or the need for support.
